"The US Media category saw 17.6 billion videos posted to Facebook, Instagram and Twitter from the start of January to the end of December. Some of the top performers increased their video actions by a massive 50 percent and it will be interesting to see if this trend can be sustained in 2020," Ms Yuki said.

"We also saw many companies post less content but drive more engagement from each piece of content which reflects a closer alignment with their audience interests and affinities. This is the key to sustainable social media strategies, content underpinned by detailed measurement and analytics on performance, to ensure they secure reach and engagement in this highly competive market," she said.
